4 Weeks Out!!! Pictures, Updates, Division Change, Upcoming Show Dates!!!

Hi there everyone!!!!

So I haven't updated in a long while... busy is an understatement! Now I see how in the beginning when I was doing all my obsessive research that sacrificial damage to the social life would happen... I...Totally...Get...It!

I feel like if I am not busy doing something then I am doing something wrong... I have even started carrying around a tiny note book that way anytime I think of something I can write it down... at least somewhere I can have everything in one place.

I am officially 4 weeks out! And if you may have noticed in my post title... I have made a division change!

I am so excited to announce that I will NOT be competing with the NPC... I have switched to the INBA!!!!

Reasons for Switching:

  1. INBA is a completely natural competition. I will be required to take a drug test. I love that there is an even playing field.
  2. INBA has AMAZING prizes for the pros that win! They are giving away a Car at the Olympia this year!
  3. INBA fits my goals for competing and it also supports my future goals in the competition world.
  4. I have a coach who is an INBA judge and 2012 INBA Coach of the year, 2012 Trainers Recognition award and the voice of the INBA and is currently being followed by documentary crew for a category called mini body building for kids fitness. Its going to be featured on stateside and in the UK. It will feature extraordinary youth athletes who are choosing a healthier lifestyle rather then playing video games and eating junk food. I am so excited that my daughter will be following in my footsteps and will be competing right along side me :) <-these kids are so adorable btw :)
  5. I will have the opportunity to compete to get on Team USA and compete on an international level against 40+ countries and 1000's of athletes!
I will be competing in the following shows:
The Zeus Classic June 7th in Sacramento, CA
California Naturals August 9th in Petaluma, CA
Night of the Natural Champions September 13 in San Francisco, CA
My Daughter will be competing in this with me.
Natural Championships September 20 in Reno, NV
Team USA!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 27 2014!!! Las Vegas Nevada!!!!!!

So as you can see... I have a ton of practice before I go for Team USA... but how crazy cool would that be!

I have been practicing my posing every single day and I love love love my routine! It's so me and very saucy!  All I really have left to work on in the posing department is the flexing and the squeezing of everything and arching your back... it's hard stuff!

I have also been taking a ton of vitamins every day. I take fish oil, women's vitamin pack, biotin and a fat burner.

My diet is super basic... it's nice because I know what I am having every day. I basically have egg whites and oatmeal for breakfast and chicken, turkey or fish and tons of veggies for the rest of my meals. Post workout I am eating more egg whites and grilled veggies.

I feel like a gym rat now to... people are starting to recognize me ha ha! Oh and I have started doing Zumba! Funnest thing in my life! I like want to get certified to teach it on the weekends or something! I love it!

I sold my blue suit... it was way to big on me :( but I have a super sexy silver one but I am going to keep what it looks like a secret until you see my stage photos! I know... :) but I want it to be a surprise!

If you are interested in finding out more about my coach Bryan Eidem you can click on his name or you can check out his Facebook Page.

I hope all your competition prep is going lovely!!!

7 Weeks Left!!!

This is all starting to sink in super fast!

You know how when you first start something and it seems like a million years until the end is in sight? That during the first few weeks/months of the process it just feels like you are going through the motions but not really getting anywhere? Then all of a sudden... BOOM... right out of no where and you are half way there, the end is in sight and holy guacamole you friggin did it!

That's how I feel right now.

This whole time I feel like I have been just doing this...doing the work outs... doing the diet... shopping for suites and shoes... but I take a look back to the very very beginning and realize that I have come so far!

I did the diet, the workouts, the shopping and its only 7 weeks until show time!

I posted on my Facebook Page yesterday that I feel like I have already won. I was looking back at some pictures that I took at the beginning of all this and realized how far I have actually come. I got my suit and shoes in the mail yesterday and when I put them on it all became super real. I am really going to compete in a fitness competition. I also said that I was my biggest competition, bigger than anything that I will encounter on that stage and I am giving myself one serious pat on the back!

If you would have asked me this time last year if I ever saw myself competing in a fitness competition I would have probably looked at you like you were from some other planet and then laughed an "uh hell no" and a "what planet are you from" and maybe an "are you crazy? I could never do that"

Well I turned my never's into now's and I am amazed just completely and utterly amazed!

The crazy thing is, is that ANYONE can do this! I never realized until now how many excuses I gave myself to get out of getting in shape... and really all I was doing was not holding myself accountable.

If there is anything that I do not have it would be time. But you know what... if you want it bad enough you will make time. Believe me.... you will find a way.

My days pretty much look like this right now

6am: Wake up
7am: Eat
9am: Take princess to school and go to work
5:30pm: Pick up princess from school
6pm: Go to the gym
8pm: Get home
9pm: Make lunches for the man, me and the princess
9:45pm: Do the dishes and anything else
10pm: finally sit down

*I am in the gym 6 days a week! Monday-Saturday

Its frickin tough but I push through it each and every day. My pay off is when I lift up my shirt and look in the mirror. Your body keeps track of what you do even when you don't keep track yourself... and I am in love with what I am seeing... I think I am borderline narcissistic... not in a bad way but in the way where I have NEVER EVER seen my body look like this before and I cant stop staring at myself!

If you have ever considered or have been interested in competing and you are reading this right now... put down everything and do some research and seriously do it! I have not had one single regret throughout this process and it is been just down right amazing! This is the best thing I have ever done for myself! So excited to see what happens over the next 7 weeks!

Holy Cheat Meal

So these last few days have been crazy! I am in the process of moving so everything has gone coo-coo...

Last night my daughter had her first T-Ball game and it was freezing out there! Poor baby started crying because she was so cold. After the game my mother in-law offered to take us out to dinner and I ended up getting some fish tacos and was talked into a Margarita :) I have been trying not to drink any alcohol while in training and so far I have been a good girl but just could not pass up the deliciousness of my favorite Mexican foods and drinks :) it was a great cheat meal but looks like I wont be having of those yummy enchiladas I made the other night.

My diet other than that has been pretty on point today I am excited to weigh in this weekend and see where I am at.

I also started practicing posing... for any of you who think that its easy... let me tell you, those girls make it look like a cinch but that is hard hard stuff! I walked around in bikini and my 5-6 inch shoes and got my walk and poses going. Number one it is hard as hell to hit your back poses and keep balance, Number two its hard as hell to get your routine down, Number 3 its hard as hell to shave said routine to 10 seconds and remember to smile and flex and smile and that is hard hard work! I was actually shocked. I totally thought that posing would be a piece of cake for me since I am naturally a good dancer and I wear heels every day for work... I was wrong! Now I know when they say that posing is a work out in itself they were not kidding my calves were on fire by the time I was done. I plan on adding about 30 minutes each day to practice so that way I am awesome by the end of all this.

This morning I made my yummy (kind of) egg white pancake. Is not the best tasting thing in the whole world but sacrifices need to be made :)   I like to put a tablespoon of peanut butter and sugar free strawberry preserves on top.
You can find the recipe here.

So that is pretty much it for the day, I have a lot more packing to do, hopefully I will be in to my new house by this weekend. I also have to be up early to get my crazy work out in since I wont have time tomorrow evening. Yay!!! Oh and I have also decided to compete in the Ms. Silverstate Tattoo Convention. Winner gets $500! I have been wanting to do it for the past few years and I think this year I am ready! If I win I will be using the money for my bikini competition. Ms. Silverstate is on May 3rd :-)

Have a lovely evening everyone!

Meal Plan and Prep

Today I wanted to share with you my meal prep and plan for competition prep week 2. Since one of my goals this week was to be completely on competition diet by the end of the week I have made sure that my meal plan reflects that. I have also decided to cut back on logging my foods with myfitnesspal because it is taking up to much of my time and then I end up stressing about being 3 grams of carbs over for the day, however I will still continue to do it if I have time.

Like I said before and I will say it again... meal planning is the hardest part of this whole thing. I can work out like a champ but when it comes to writing down what you are planning on eating for an entire week then actually sticking to it is tough cookies...mmmmm cookies... anyway it took me an honest hour an a half to put together my meal plan for the week but I was starting from scratch I think as the weeks go by I will get better at it but I will never stop doing research on nutrition and pinterest has been my god send!

Here is my meal plan for the week (sorry for the crappy picture):

I will be making everything from scratch and will post the recipes on my Recipes page as I go and since I am having Tuna Salad for lunch tomorrow I will put that one up with my update tomorrow night :) p.s. the sausage patties are actually turkey sausage links this week since I noticed while I was at the store that 3 links has less sodium then 2 of the turkey sausage patties with the same caloric count and protein. The toast is also 100% whole wheat bread.

I also meal prepped for the week which I highly recommend. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten ready to leave for work then thought oh shoot I forgot to cook my chicken... then I end up eating something that I did not plan for and usually not clean. Its better to plan ahead. Since this week I will be eating chicken for lunch and dinner I am making 3 large chicken breasts (about half a breast is between 4 and 6 ounces) and 3 sweet potatoes ahead of time.

The seasoning that I put on my chicken is all sodium free. I put the spices on the chicken one at a time usually in this order:

Italian Seasoning
Garlic Powder
Paprika
Sage
Onion Powder
Rosemary
Turmeric

I love spices better then just splashing on some Ms. dash and this combo is my fav and you can certainly mix them all together and do it rub style. :)

I cook both the potatoes and the chicken at 375 for an hour or until the chicken is done.

Today is my easy day I only need to run 2 miles :) technically this is my rest day but after the work outs I have been putting in only a 2 mile run is easy peasy! I hope you like my meal planning tactics and it helps you out if you are planing on competing bikini. Off to go run now!

xoxo Kaila
